📦🦺🏬#Site_Visits to three important Kenya Red Cross #Operations #Centers:
1️⃣ 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 – explore the processes and operational work of KRCS, including how aid partners use the facilities, and how they meet their in-country needs. Participants will also see innovation in action with KRCS’ cost-effective use of standard ISO containers for humidity controlled medical storage.
2️⃣ 𝗘-𝗣𝗹𝘂𝘀 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗔𝗺𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 – tour the emergency response operations room and attend a briefing on the sustainable business model used to run over 120 ambulances in Kenya – a model now also used in Tanzania and Gambia.
3️⃣ 𝗜𝗖𝗥𝗖 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 – get a firsthand look at the cold chain processes for medical items, with a briefing on how ICRC manages quality control, and challenges around the disposal and quarantine of items. (Note. This facility is now becoming an important global hub).

Many of the latest innovations will also be on display from rapid mobile pathogen testing technologies, temperature-controlled storage to the latest water filtration systems and drone delivery technologies.

The conference will be co-hosted by the Humanitarian Logistics Association (HLA) and Georgia Tech Center for Health and Humanitarian Systems – bringing together supply chain management representatives, front-line practitioners and healthcare professionals from governments, NGOs, the UN, the private sector, and academia to help shape the future supply chain for health service delivery.
